Most electric heaters generate heat by directly heating elements via electric currents. These include portable, panel convection, and off-peak storage heaters. Reverse cycle air conditioning, however, extracts heat from outdoor air even on winter nights, transferring it indoors. The refrigerant absorbs outdoor heat through an external coil, and then a compressor pumps it into a fan coil unit indoors, releasing warmth. This system can transfer three units of heat for every unit of electricity, reducing running costs to a third of direct element heaters. Reversing refrigerant flow enables efficient summer cooling. These systems provide economical heating, air filtration, and dehumidification.
Split systems are permanently mounted with the condenser/compressor unit located externally and a separate evaporator/fan coil unit inside the home. These are joined together by insulated piping, which carries the refrigerant. The remote location of the compressor makes these units significantly quieter than window or wall units. The internal unit of a split system is most commonly installed on a wall. However, units can be installed at floor level, ideal for heating, in the ceiling as a cassette or ducted system.
Multi-systems are split systems with more than one internal unit connected to an external compressor. There are multiple indoor styles and capacity combinations available. These systems have individual on, off, and temperature controls.
Ducted systems are designed to centrally heat and cool a large number of rooms or an entire home. They can be suitable if you have an open-plan house and prefer heating or cooling in all or most of the rooms in your house simultaneously.
The CITY MULTI PUMY-SP Series air conditioning system allows the connection of multiple indoor units to a single outdoor unit. Choose from CITY MULTI indoor units using the standard branch pipework, M-S-P series indoor units via a multi split system branch box, or a combination of both for selection convenience.
Ceiling cassette air conditioning systems are an ideal option for air-conditioned rooms where there are no available walls to mount a split system or where there is limited ceiling space for a ducted system. Its whisper-quiet operation is ideal for master bedrooms, living rooms and other single-room residential or commercial uses.
Where air conditioning installation is not possible due to a lack of wall space or concrete ceilings, a bulkhead can be created to house the SEZ system. Its quiet operation makes it suitable for bedrooms, living rooms and other single-room residential or commercial uses.
The range of wall-mounted reverse cycle split system air conditioners includes inverter and non-inverter models, suitable for single rooms through to larger open plan living areas. As a leader in air conditioning technology, Mitsubishi Electric has introduced new features such as Plasma Duo filter systems, i-see Sensor and Catechin filters.
Unlock the door to smarter heating and cooling systems, for total home comfort. This innovative technology connects your Mitsubishi Electric air conditioner to your smartphone, tablet or online account, giving you the freedom to fully control each unit on-the-go via an internet connection from anywhere in the world.
All our AC systems have inverter technology, which enables the compressor to operate at variable speeds depending on the output required. Inverter air conditioners have a faster heat-up time and maintain a more comfortable room temperature. Inverters can reduce running costs, particularly over longer operating periods.
